Secret Santa Literary Style - unpacking the present

My Literary Secret Santa gift arrived in inventive & inspiring packaging wrapped around a book equally so. Or so it seems from the few times I've been able to dip into it. The full-on roar of the family events has begun to subside, so now I'll get to all the reading that came my way. Not to mention some of the books that I gave to various family members that I intend to read before they take them back to their house!

Anyway, many thanks, Secret Santa, this is a cool surprise! btw, the packaging in on the left and the book itself is on the right. Isn't the photo on the package too cool?

  1. I've seemed to have stumbled upon your blog, and read this entry. The literary secret Santa sounds like something that would be near and dear to my own heart. I think that may be due to my own immense passion of the literature world. Well, just wanted to stop by and say how much I liked that short little bit.

  2. Hey, thanks for your comment. I'm pretty sure that HTMLGIANT will do this again next year, so stay in touch, or swing by there. In the original post further down, I included a link to HTMLGIANT and their project. It was very fun and I definitely received a book I would never have come across otherwise.

  3. The secret santa exchange was fun, wasn't it? And now the gift list is turning out to be a rather good reading list, too. Not to mention all the new blogs I'm coming across among the santas. Glad to have found yours.

  5. I did the HTMLGIANT SS thing, too, but haven't received my present yet! (Did you hear the whine?) I guess that will make it a bigger surprise, if and when it shows up!

  6. Cliff...oh , dear! but it might be a subscription to something that is yet to arrive. Did you check HTML GIANT? They have a list of who was assigned to whom and sometimes what they each gave/received. As a check, I guess, or to avoid that utter disappointment of accckkkk... NO PRESENT! I'm sure something will turn up, though. Eventually. Remember, some people exchange gifts on Three Kings Day.

  7. Cari...the HTML SS list has become a good source, hasn't it? It's like a whole new raft of presents....or maybe a secondary slew of them ...or, hmmm. Maybe I won't continue down that referential path...Glad to have found your blog, too.

  8. Emily...I sooo enjoy the book! the language and writing, esp. But I think one of the kids has skated off with it. Guess they like it too. I'll have to snag it back before they each return to their homes. 'Course, I should finish the books I snagged from them. We'll have a little book exchange tomorrow night, I suspect, before they leave.

    Many, many thanks!
